Say it ain't so
So I've had 73-80 fenders and 73-80 hood both repops forever to put on my 76. Turns out cab isn't worth fixing so I buy an 84. Put a cab corner on stripped and painted. Today I discover that at least these fenders won't work, I guess that's why they break at 80 and go to 81-87. I'm guessing the hood is the same problem. Somebody tell me I'm wrong(PLEASE). Looks like the shape or positioning of the 84's A-pillar is diff. Guess I got parts for sale.
AARRRGGGHHHH!!!! Thanks, xrcr |

Re: Say it ain't so
no the do work but you have to inlarge the holes on the fender i have a 87 and put a 76 clip on it and i have to make the holes larger for the fenders to bolt to the cab

You gotta do that anyway with aftermarket sheet metal. Just save yourself the time and make all the bolt holes bigger while it's off the truck.

Re: Say it ain't so
I've always understood they're interchangeable, I know it's been done a million times, so like above post I'd look into enlarging the holes. You're on the right track, asking here, because people here will know.
I agree on the repops, unless it's goin to be a farm truck I'd find factory fenders, even if they're used. Most of those repops are made in China on worn out tooling out of inferior metal. They don't fit well (could be your problem right there) and they dent easier because they are thinner, and they rust way faster.

Re: Say it ain't so
Thanks for the info. You know how it is when you start something and get hit with an issue immediately. I was looking at how I could make it work and decided to get some advice first. Thanks again.
