the stock bracket clamps it in there but i may just use a piece of rubber to hold it in better. everything else ive seen acts like a clamp as well.

We used the old steering column mounting bracket, modified it and added the newer clamp from a 91 suburban. This allowed us to still maintain the stock mounting for the brake pedal, we cut the old bracket to make room for the wiring, this then allowed us to use the stock emergency brake lever as well. The only mods we did to the steering column itself was to change the length of the shaft 1.25" shorter (we used the tilt wheel, the column, the wiring harness, the power steering gearbox, the engine, the power steering pump, engine, 700r4 etc..all from a wrecked 91 burb that we paid $500.00 for. here is al ink to pictures of the bracket mods, steering column install, etc.
