He should fix it himself instead of paying a shop to fix it.

Being a pessimist;
I'm suspicious! The mechanic looks like a sleeze. To eager to get the "kid" to leave his truck.
I think the mechanic wanted the truck for himself. He wanted the guy to leave it and go buy a new truck.
If the guy would've left it, then a couple of days later he would have seen the mechanic driving around town with his "Harders" shop logo painted on the truck's doors. All the truck probably needed was a carb rebuild or something that simple. Notice the "I'm gonna break this fool's bank" smile, when the guy left the blank check. I also wouldn't doubt if the last shot was the mechanic checkin' out the guy's wife as the family was leaving.

Re: truck in chevy ad

Don't care about the ad, just glad he remembered his roots. My grandfather had one of these trucks, my father had one, and now I have one. Hopefully I'll be able to build one for all three of my girls.

Re: truck in chevy ad

Yea that is cool. I have all daughters (5 of them) and none of them are into cars & trucks. Although one of my grandsons always want to help me work on the truck, maybe he will git it.
