Oil Pressure Gauges
I have an 87 R-10 oil gauge. It shows Low to High oil pressure.
I am replacing it with an 87 suburban gauge that reads 0 to 60 lbs pressure. I think it will work, but why do they read differently? It it because the burb cost more money? I am putting the whole burb cluster in the truck. I hope all the gauges work. |

The cluster will swap over. I have an '87 Suburban that I'm slowly pulling parts off of for my '87 V10. As for the oil gauge reading different, I'm not sure. Someone will know more than I do on that one. I'll check mine tomorrow and see if it is like yours.

There are 2 different guages I am aware of. 1 reads 0 to 30 PSI and 1 that reads 0 to 60 PSI. As long as the sender matches the guage your good to go. jim

The guage will still work but the readings will be incorrect. Use a 30 PSI sender with a 80 PSI guage and the displayed pressure will show higher than it actually is. jim

Thanks. My gauge just showed low to high. No numbers. I don't know how much the sender has. Sometimes it would show high then it would show just a little lower.

Ran the truck today with the 0 to 60 lbs oil gauge. It showed a little over 60 while cold. It went down to around 45 when it warmed up. I just warmed it up in the garage.
