Re: Schrader valves

I don't have any pics, but its pretty straight forward. Run a separate line from each bag, and a valve for each bag. That will allow you to fill them independently and prevent air transfer from side to side.

If you don't want them visible.... then yes, you need to 'hide' them.

I mounted the rears on my 68 behind the license plate. The left side bag was mounted on the left; the right side on the right. If/when I needed more spring rate to pull the trailer, I flipped the LP up & added air.

My 74 also had/has an AOL set-up. There were some holes drilled into the bed floor in front of the wheel tubs by the previous owner that I used for the schraders. Since they were right up against the bed wall (in front of the tubs), you didn't really notice the valve stem cap poking out the floor.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Schrader valves

Just keep in mind that if you develop a leak, even a very slow leak (and you will), you could end up with no air source and a bottomed out truck.

Route lines away from heat; route them away from any source of chafing, & bubble check your fittings before installation. I do mine this way & haven't had issues.

That being said, I would not utilize schraders on the front of a street driven vehicle.
