Door repair panels

What is everyones opinion on the inner door repair panels. I need to replace them on both of my doors and was just about to order them from a vendor.

Re: Door repair panels

unless they have been revised then they suck..... be prepared to hack them up and only use what you need...

Re: Door repair panels

Overall the fit is usally fine on the Taiwan made stuff with the exception that the stamped lines on the inner side do not line up well with the factory lines. they are off bad. Assuming that the part is not defective like large wrinkles or crushed sections which can cause problems. Most of the time they aren't but they do happen. You can reshape them some but its a lot of work after paying for the part. We sell an american made inner but I have never installed that particular part so I can't say if it lines up better. Here again if you can find a damaged door with a good bottom you are better off. Are they worthless, not by any means but they do have issues.

Re: Door repair panels

I'd think you could find a pair of doors that don't need too much work. I had a pair that weren't too bad I was barely able to give away not too long ago.

I snagged a set from Pick-n-Pull a few years ago from a 71. One had a big shallow dent and a bullet hole (I found the slug) but minimal rust.
