68 c10
hi guys i just got my first c10 and i love it. its in good condition the only down fall is that it is a long bed and i would really like to make a short bed ive been looking on all the fourms and havent found a good link to show step by step how to convert it is it really worth it or should i leave it as is. i will post some pics soon to give you an idea of what condition its in.

Why buy a longbed if you don't like it. I say if it bothers you that much sell it and buy a shortbed. To many shortbed conversions in my opinion but its your truck. Whatever you like. By the way I like it longbed and its a good looking truck.

It is your truck, dow what you want with it. Looks like a nice start. I prefer short beds, but you may want to do a drop and maybe some wheels and ride it like that for a while. You can always go back and shorten it later.

i think im im going to do what you said bp might as well keep like that and customize later on down the road it runs strong is a cool trucks thanks for all the comments guys. and cheyenne shortstep no i didnt i know alot of people and this truck was traded in to my friends delaership and when i saw it i wanted it.. really good deal cant complain i will keep everyone posted in what i do to it .!!!

There are several good articles in our FAQ forum on how to properly cut the frame to covert it to a SWB. Don't let the LWB lovers discourage you, cut it down like you want to.

Nothing wrong with a long bed but it's your truck. I don't think I'd cut it though. Nice truck man. Just my opinion.

Dude, that's a '67 with a panoramic window. Unless it's a '68 with filled-in side marker reflector holes.
Nice truck either way.

very nice find, buy it, mod it, and worry about converting it later if you still want, I'm a swb guy myself but this site has a lot of nice lwb trucks. First modification if it were mine would be a day of panel fitting and shimming, very good body but whoever did the work was clearly lazy or rushing, body lines make or break a truck to me and for the effort, time, and cost of shims I bet you could get her perfect for under $50 including the cost of beer

I was in the same boat. Wanted a SWB, but couldn't pass up the deal on my C20 LWB. Not to mention that SWBs tend run several thousand than a LWB around here.
Thought of converting it to a SB, but so far I just like driving it, so that is what I am doing. May still do a conversion, but realize that the time involved will mean not being able to drive it and I am not willing to do that yet. Actually thinking of picking up another and doing a conversion to SB. That way, I can still drive one while working on the other. Do whatever you want to it - it is yours and you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself.
