1967 bench seat - interchange with other years?
I want to get a new (used) bench seat for my 67. Anyone know if these interchange with other years? Mine is a fold forward bench and I want to stick with that. Did other years fold forward too or just 67's? I know neither of my 69's did, neither did my 71 or 72. What about 66 and earlier? Could I get a 66 and earlier and put my bench seat brackets on that?

I know my dad had a '66 model and the seat flipped forward on it.

67-72 bench seats will interchange with each other. I have seen some that flip forward, and others that are stationary. Year of the truck did not seem to matter.

Re: 1967 bench seat - interchange with other years?
My original '68 bench seat flipped. I used to think I was hot with a Marlin .30-30 in a scabbard bunji-ed to the backseat springs. A couple of years later I traded that seat to a guy with a '66 GMC, for an electric bench bucket out of a '69 T-Bird. Used to work OK. Neat to trim the seatangle on long drives, but Ford electrics won out. It shorted out one time and I burned my hand on the fuse-able link I used for the ground lead.
If FORD made refrigerators, we'd all drink warm beer like the English. The bench seat in my '67 K/10 Suburban had a closed back, but also would flip, if you pulled the wingnuts.

Re: 1967 bench seat - interchange with other years?
I have a flip forward bench out of a 66 I am planning on putting in my truck.. If it doesnt fit ill take a grinder and welder to the brackets.. My truck came with 80s lincoln towncar seats that were thrashed when I got it.

67-72 will all bolt down in the same place. Only differenc will be the back flipping forward and that really isnt necessary unless you have the tank out.

Re: 1967 bench seat - interchange with other years?
This seat is in my dump truck and we put the tarps between the seat and tank, so having the flip seat is nice. I may just get a regular 67-72 seat and then I can have the original one recovered at my leisure.
