Re: 1968 steering clolumn
ok the major thing is the 4 bolts at the gear box on the drivers side frame. next is the bolt that runs throught the arm that connects the column to the gearbox after that theres 2 screws on the inside on the dash for a little metal plate under the column, take that off, next there will be 4 1/2 inch bolts holding on your e brake handle take those out after that the e brake will drop to the floor and be out of the way. next there will be a bracket bolting the column under where the ebrake is they are 1/2 inch as well, take that bracket off. next disconnect the wiring from the column to the fuse box, after that is done there are 2 screws on the fire wall undo them and then you need to go in the engine bay and unbolt a strap that straps around the column. you will also need to disconnect the shift linkage if its a automatic or a on the column shift. once those are done then you unbolt a plate that bolts to the fire wall above the column hole in the firewall and thats it! seems like alot? not really. can you tell i have done this a few times?
