Electric door lock problems
Sometimes my door locks open and close as they should. For some reason I notice that they seem to work better after driving and stopping and then using them. Almost like after the truck is driven, the door locks work once or twice like they should, and until I take the truck for a drive again, they won't always pop open, and will barely pop closed. I found the relay for the locks, but messing with it and the connections to it makes no difference. I was thinking maybe a ground problem? But where would I look for the wire?

Re: Electric door lock problems
In my case, I replaced the actuators and switches then discovered the real problem - the door lock rod mechanism was rusty and hanging up when the actuator tried to move the lock. I applied WD40 and all was good. They still hang up once every few months, but they work fine most of the time. I will have to remember to lube those rods the next time I have the door panels off. Even in the desert you can get rust in enclosed spaces like door panels. I suggest you remove the door panel and operate the lock switch to see what is going on inside the door - a flashlight and inspection mirror will help.
