My '72 barn find...

Well not really...

This is my '72 Blazer I bought new in July 1972. I am cementing my shop floor and needed to moved it outside. First time it has been out in five years. Yes it needs some cleaning up, but it is good shape. I hope to work on it someday.

The front grill looks stock but it is custom made from steel. 12K winch.

The truck looks pretty much stock except for a larger rear gas tank, side saddle gas tanks, lifted about 3", roll bar, 16.5" spoke rims, dual stock batteries, headers, intake and carb, and lot more custom stuff. A little less than 100K on the truck.

Thought you guys might want to see it before it goes back in the shop. A work in progress since 1972.

The slider windows, spoke wheeles, and spare tire holder holder rock! I see a gas fill on both sides? How many tanks you have?

There are three tanks for a total of 60 Gals, IIRC. Each tank can be used separately with dash switches (each tank has its own level sender which reads on the main gas gauge when switched) and the bottom tank is filled through the left side tank then a valve is closed.

Re: My '72 barn find...

Each side tank has a valve to dump to the main tank. Back when gas was cheap, it was fun to open the valve on a side tank, start driving and watch the gas gauge go from full to empty in a few minutes. I can draw gas to the engine from any tank and check the fuel level in any tank. The bottom tank was what I mainly used. The truck was built for long off road trips.
