67 instrument cluster paint

What colour silver or grey paint should I use around the guages to look factory?
I'm guessing some kind of flat silver.

Re: 67 instrument cluster paint

Somebody must have repainted the silver on these clusters & gloveboxes with a stock colour. Is there an interior paint code or do I just go to the hardware store & try matching colour? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 67 instrument cluster paint

I did notice that 8568 argent silver is gloss. It can be flattned. Ask the paint supplier about that. Also I can't remember for sure, but I think there are two argents. A light one and a dark one.
Here are a few threads with some information on argent silver

Angry Re: 67 instrument cluster paint

Here's my first attempt at painting my cluster, I don't like it at all & will be redoing it when I get the correct paint, or just get a new face plate. First pic is after, other is before,

Re: 67 instrument cluster paint

SEM silver Color Coat. Matches pretty dang close. I have used it before and it was really close to my NOS Cheyenne Super Dash. Trevor

You might try Krylon Dull Aluminum part # 1403. Kragen/O'Reilly can order it.
