Rear Window Chrome Bead Lock
Has anybody used the chrome bead lock in their rear window gasket? I’m curious if it holds up, or is like that old plastic stuff that turned brown and brittle like was used on Pinto drip rails back in the 70’s.

Re: Rear Window Chrome Bead Lock
I was told by my glass installer to avoid it.

For what it's worth, mine has been in close to two years and still looks good.

Re: Rear Window Chrome Bead Lock
That's part of why I was curious. If it doesn't stretch, it may be harder to fit the ends correctly. And if it does stretch, that may blister the finish if it's that old stuff from decades ago. I wouldn't have much interest in doing just the back window, but one of my sons is searching for the stainless windshield trim, and if that ever becomes available it might look nice to have matching back window trim - if it works!

Re: Rear Window Chrome Bead Lock
Was that an option? Having the chrome or stainles trim on the back window like on the front? I've never seen it before and always thought it would look better.
