Re: Pictures of custon dash pads?

A while back I remember someone posting about a dash pad that had an integrated triple gauge pod. It was awesome, but kind of pricey from what I remember.

Here's a link to the thread:

I had my door panels and dashpad done at the upolstry shop, headliner and visors next, drew the design on a post-it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Pictures of custon dash pads?

I had mine done with a simple french seam along the edge. (Before someone notices or flames me ... my steering wheel is covered in the same leather... I just don't have any current pics).

Re: Pictures of custon dash pads?

I wonder what it would take for me to make my own dash pad... What kind of material would I need to get that shape?

Find one that's trashed (or use what you have) Pull the old vinyl off and start shaping the foam... go over it in fiberglass... then glue on some covering.. leather/tweed/upholstery to match the seats/ etc....

C10-Driver well I must say that console is the best one I have seen. The way you got it to blend in just look great.

Re: Pictures of custon dash pads?

I once had a nice tuck and roll on dashpad to match seats and door panels, but that was 1980 and I'm not sure it translates today.

I'm thinking of removing the pad altogether and either filling the holes under it for a smooth painted metal dash or perhaps trying to fabricate a stainless or chrome trim of sorts to cover the holes under the dash pad.

Those pads have no real purpose other than attempting to follow nonsensical government regs and sorta look out place in a metal cabbed truck imo.

The earlier C-10s look just fine without 'em.

- That's what Im gonna do. I already removed the pad. I saw another member do the same thing and he used exhaust tubing for filling in the holes so the welded in pieces had a curve to them to match the dash curve. I thought that was a great idea.
