Re: looking for brake interchange info

I believe you could take the complete front crossmember disc brakes etc from a 74 to 91 3/4 ton burb or a 77 to 87 3/4 ton pickup and it would fit. I have a 88 3/4 ton burb and it looks very simalar to the 1/2 ton burb I used with 5 lug wheels. Kieth

ps I do not have a 3/4 ton 64-65-66 pickup to compare it to, so others can chime in here..............but it could have been used on my 1/2 ton........

ps be sure it has 8 lugs before you purchase one. I would use the vac brake booster, the master cyclinder, the tilt wheel, the powersteering box etc.. find a wrecked one I only paid $600.00 for my 88 3/4 ton and it also had a 20,000 mile TB 350. the trans was not a 700R4 so I bought a 91 burb that was wrecked and used the front crossmember from it, used the engine from the 3/4 ton trans from the 1/2 ton, disc brakes, etc......Kieth

Here you go....

This is in the FAQ at the top of the page. Lots of other good links there too.

Take notice of your '64's lower control arm shafts. Should you decide to change the control arms also, you will have to change the crossmember as well. You should be able to install the '73-'87 C20, or '88-'92 R20 ball joints into the '64 control arms.
