Pulling ignition problem

I am planning to restore the dash in my 71 next, but I have a problem. The truck was not running when I aquired it and I was not given any keys for it. I have seen how to pull the ignition cylinder if you have keys, but since I dont any tips? I dont wanna do any damage to the dash sheet metal getting it and the trim ring out. Thanks
Brock

Replace the Ign switch and door lock key cylinders. You need a special tool to remove and install the ign cyl trim ring. The Truck Shop in Orange, CA will have what you need.

Re: Pulling ignition problem

If you have a old set of the regular style gm keys try sticking one in there. After 40 years of use alot of these gm ignitions will take any key. My truck will start with old keys my father had laying around. Its worth a shot.
