Vintage Air system

I just my vintage air system shipped today. I will make sure I will take lots of pics during the install. I am excited and I though some people here would be interested. The only down fall is that it will not be operating for a while yet.

I got it from Pauls hot rod in Indy. The cost was about $960 for the kit but I do not recomend them. I have been waiting to get it shipped for 2 months, the first kit i got was for a 58 instead of a 68.

I jsut figured out that I was sent the wrong A/C Bracket in my kist. So I have to drive 2 hours down to indy and spend an extra $70 for the right one.. What fun.

Why should you have to spend an extra $70? Unless the correct one is more expensive, but still, if THEY screwed up and shipped the wrong one, I would think they would wave any $ difference.

Have you talked to the Cust. Svc. at V.A. about it?.

Yes please post LOTS of pictures as I will be doing this also. I hope before next summer. Seems like the company you order the products from should:

A) Have their act together
or
B) Eat the cost on screw ups that lead to them.

Even if they order the kit from someone else. They should have a quality control that checks everything out when they get it in.
I think the key word here is kit. Is the bracket something you have to buy seperate?

Point is people asked where you got the vintage air from which could have been a really could business transaction- which might have led to more business for them. I hope this all works out.

Well he exchanged the braket for the other one for the a/c pump. the extra $70 was for the new alternator braket. I guess there was some miss communication on what year engine we had and that we had the long water pump. Needless to say I am not too impress with the whole ordeal. Now the only issue to resolve is the deal with the a/c contolls. I guess I am supposed to use the old one and they supply a new lever. We are calling vintage air tomorrow to straighten it out.

Hope everything works out. MY experience with V.A was excellent. I had everything in the first shipment, packed very well, and customer service was very good as well. My distributor "double checked" my engine, pump, where the alt. was located, he took the info from me then went and looked in my eng. compartment to double check, before he ordered. I got my kit in less than 2 weeks.
Why did you have to order an alt. bracket? Did you order a "shure- fit" system? Do you have an a/c cab?
I hope V.A or your dealer make things right, I got the feeling from V.A, that they really cared about customer satisfaction.

I don't feel that there was a problem with V.A. just the distributer. I have a 74 Chevy engine and the stock alternator is on the passenger side with the a/c pump on the driver side.
