Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
I just got done doing the swap on my 1962 Pickup ... Didn't like the 62 Grill , so I got the 1960 grill , had it sandblasted and powder coated .. Just installed and looks awesome !!! Nice change ....
Looking at your 60 Grill ... Heres what I see ... 1) Headlight Bezel 2) Both L/R buckets and supporting bracket for Headlight / Buckets , its what bolts to those 4 holes , on grill frame .. 3) Correct wire harness if you don't have .. Here is pictures of mine installed ... |

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
the Headlight Bezel are made of steel and here some links to ebay for the parts you need!
first link is the correct bezel on the picture he wrote it was form a 1958-59 chevy Truck but it is a Bezel from a 1960/61 , i think it is the cheapest way to get the part that you need! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-...Q5fAccessories and the next http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/60-61...Q5fAccessories and the bucket http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/60-61...Q5fAccessories

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
Apache 63 thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I am for sure thinking of buying that single bezel even thou it has some damage. I should have waited to have found a complete unit. I missed one at a local swapmeet by like 30 seconds. They buyer was paying for it when rolled up to the space. It was only $75.00 complete.

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
iehotrod , thanks for the kind words ... I believe since mine was a 62 model .. may have helped since I didn't need to drill any holes ... Bolted rite in .. I deffinately think that I like the look 10 times better ... I went the extra mile and powdercoated the grill white , buckets satin black .. New adj. hardware for lights , new screws & clips , wireharness .. ( Classic Chevy Truck ) and halogen headlights form a BMW at Pick & Pull $2.00 each with 30 day warrenty ... Beats buying a new set ..

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
I have one, did not even realize it. Came with a 65 gmc parts truck I bought and I salvaged a bunch of stuff out of a barn where the horses had trampled a lot of stuff (instrument housing, cluster, ) lots of stuff had horse crap on it. You have peaked my interest, I am going to blast it, and paint it to match the color combo on my 66 gmc (the stock grill is huge so I think I will paint this one so I can change the look at will . I will have to cover up those chevrolet letters then put some gmc on there just to confuse everyone. ha ha.

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
Man it did not take you long to figure that out, ha ha ! We have to be crazy to redo these old pickupts don't we ?
Everyone is painting the grills white, I am painting mine medium fawn metalic base coat clear coat (not flattened) since I cannot find a chrome grill that I do not have to hock my house to purchase.......I thought I would try someting different. Just a small touch of class. will post pictures when installed and painted ..... Kieth It is coming along: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...739146_Hn4N37r Last edited by kieth; 06-27-2011 at 09:20 AM. |

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
The previous grill that was on my truck came from a 64-66 pickup and matched the color of my truck .. ( Looks like Forest SVC Green ) ... Had to do some soul searching and figured I would do the white ... that way it matches my side trim ... Looking forward to seeing what the grills look like painted different colors ..

Re: 60/61 Apache Grill headlight bezel and buckets
IMO they great almost any color but the same color of the truck. They just get lost and look mono tone. This ol trucks have way to many good lines to hide of of them.
