Also check your passenger side carpet for wetness.

Make sure your oil level isn't rising.

Re: invisible coolant leak

I know its not he heater core. I think i will just take it in to a garage and have them find the problem. haven't checked the rising oil level thing, praying it isn't though.

Re: invisible coolant leak

On my 6.5TD I had a leak in one of my thermostat crossover to head gaskets and it was like the leak 54 Jimmy suggested. The coolant would run across the intake valley and down the back of the motor & bellhousing. I never saw a drop. It all burned off or blew away while driving. I would lose a gallon in 30 miles. I thought I had a major problem and it was a cheap little gasket.

Re: invisible coolant leak

Cooling System Pressure Tester....find one and pump up the system. Loose hose clamps; leaking intake manifold gasket (common problem); leaking fitting for heater hose on intake (another common problem); radiator cap that won't hold pressure (bad rubber seal in the cap); all of these are common problems.

Re: invisible coolant leak

In your other thread you said at -20 it wont start..

I have seen this happen before..check the wires going to the coolant sensor..by t-stat.. make sure they are not green with corrosion..

.I had a 88 truck back in 90 come in for a no start..only when it was below 10 degrees...in Delaware.

It has green corroded wires..on the coolant sensor..Changed the plug..did nothing..I pulled up the pass carpet..yes antifreeze was there..but not from heater core..

But out of the Engine Computer itself..

.The wire had wicked antifreeze all the way up the harness..and filled the ECM with antifreeze...

Strange things do happen when it gets cold outside...

ya know it is cammed but i think it shakes a bit to much but maybe it's just me, but it isn't a rhymatic shake so??? i found the heater core leaking but its still dropping coolant. not much but still. it's blowing some steam from my tail pipe. but very little. i wouldn't think it should steam at all at 65 degrees. any thoughts
