TH350 problem...found and fixed...

A few weeks ago I posted a thread about a problem I was having with my TH350 in my 1970 CST. It suddenly started stack shifting and no amount of modulator adjustment or replacement or anything seemed to help....so I took it apart and lo and behold...this is what I found when I took the separator plate off....Yes...that's half a check ball and it's other half all mangled up....no wonder it was shifting so strange. I had no idea that some TH350's had rubber check balls. To fix it, I put in a new shift kit with a steel check ball and now it's shifting and working GREAT!!!

Re: TH350 problem...found and fixed...

I think all TH350's had rubber check balls from the factory. Mine did in my 1972 GMC. When I put the shift kit in it... I removed them all. Nice FIRM shifts now. Cool you found your prob and got it fixed!
