Re: anybody break a drop spindle?

I've used Belltech for 25 years or more, on many trucks.

Other good brands are:
McGaughy's
Western Chassis
Early Classic

Re: anybody break a drop spindle?

I found this old thread:
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f12/ha...indles-369191/
Bullet=AIM
AIM offered two different spindles Bullet and AIM.
They said Bullets were made somewhere else, but both were the same price plus AIM was the only company that sold them.

They are junk!
They came from AIM Industries.
Later they changed their name to Chassis Tech.
Now they are called AirBagIt.com

They have a terrible reputation.

Use any of the spindles that have been mentioned in the above posts,... and you will be fine.

Thanks for looking that up Keith. I was pretty sure that the Bullitt brand was AIM/ChassisTech/Airbagit.com crap.

Just one more post regarding the quality of crap that these clowns sell.

Man that is just wrong. If it is indeed a AIM part, well, you get what you pay for. Buy nice or buy twice as they say. Tell your buddy to look up and thank the big man upstairs he was not going 65 on a highway and killed himself and 30 others, (like me)

They even went earlier than that. They used to advertise under the "Ratical Tops" brand name back in the mini truck days and at least one other name prior to that even. They have a very long history of producing shabby products.

Re: anybody break a drop spindle?

I had a chassis tech spindle break on me years ago. It broke just past the threads at the end of the shaft. I was on the freeway and the truck started pullin to the left and then felt like the brakes were on so I pulled over and the wheel was hella toed out. Only thing holding it in was the caliper, which warped the **** outta my rotor and fried the pads. Coulda been a lot worse tho... And the piece that broke off with the washer and castle nut were shot thru the center cap of my rim too.
