Welcome. One statement here. CLEAR TITLE or ownership papers. Also if you are planning a swap to another chassis don't over look the bigger trucks like 1 ton an 1-1/2 tons for the cab and then get pickup fenders and a pickup bed. But again get one with a title or papers that you can transfer into your name before you start on it.
And buy the best cab you can buy to start with as far as rust goes. |

Thanks for the tips guys! Much appreciated. What is the size difference between the 1/2 ton and larger? Is it considerably bigger? In this situation, size matters - but not in the way you think it would... haha, I don't want to go too big!!

The cabs are the same only the front fenders, bed, etc differ and then only on 1 ton or larger- the 3/4 tons use the same sheetmetal except for the bed,
often the cabs on larger trucks are in better shape as they sit higher and are exposed to less salt etc. Good luck, Jim |

1 tons are the same as well. The 1 1/2-2 tons have the same cabs with some mounting variations. Front sheet metal is the same 1/2-1 ton.
