finally got a CCDRW

here's big blue in all its glory. just got it home.
stats: 1988 crew 1ton dually 34k mi. 454/400 has ac (no worky)i bought from the original owner. 23 yrs in the washington desert has taxed the paint to say the least, but no rust, no dents. the PO had a camper on it the whole time he owned it and never hauled anything in it. the tailgate has been in his attic 23yrs. it looks like its never been on a truck. i've passed on some better looking ones but the money was right for this one.

That looks good. 34k miles is unreal. Amazing what a set of those stainless simulators do for one of those. Nice find!

Re: finally got a CCDRW

First is to go through the whole thing and bring all the maintence up to speed. Then remove the door killers and put on regular mirrors. Then all the misc crap on the exterior. Static drop (mild) ,spray on bed liner. Then wheels, last is paint.
Ill try to get more pics up.
Yall gimme sugestions if ya got any.

Re: finally got a CCDRW

my suggestion is don't paint it, I love the old worn original paint. Just clean it up and wax it.

Those colors make the truck stand out. I agree. Just clean it up.

You sure got a sweet deal on it too!

Re: finally got a CCDRW

Thx guys. Yeah the repaint thing is so far down the road im not even thinking about it. Whats funny is the bed and tail gate look showroom new especially the tailgate. the guy said he put it in his attic when he brought the truck home and didnt take it out until i bought it. Its so nice i cant put it on the truck. I got an old beater laying around im gonna put on it. The prob with the paint is the iron stains. The po's yard water was from the yakima river. This crap dosent wanna come off.
