wheel/tire Pic request

I just got some 15x10" rallies for the rear of my 83'. I was thinking of putting 295/50/15's on the rear and 245/60/15's on the 8" rallies on the fronts.

My truck is lowered 5/7. I would like to know if the 295's will tuck in the rear fenders on the 10" wheels. I would love to see some pics if anyone out there has this tire combo with a similar drop. Thanks

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

My truck has 15 x 10 rallys with 5in back space and 295/50/15 tires.
I have about .5in clearance on the inside and about .25in clearance on the outside.
Ill get more detailed pics tomorrow.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

Are you having any rubbing issues with the 255/60/15's in the front?

I love it man. I will probably end up going with the same tire combo you have then. I love your truck.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

Wow, looks good man. Those really fill the fenders out! So it looks like even if I were tucking tire those would clear.

I don't know what I want, right now it is between

275/60/15's on the back and 255/60/15's on the front
or
295/50/15's and 245/60/15's

It is such a permanent decision and it is so hard to tell even with all the good pics.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

I would go with your second choice without hesitation!
245/60/15 front 295/50/15 rear.
The other set in my opinion is to big front/to small rear.
But thats what I like.

I think they would look good too. With 1/4 inch it looks like I should be fine. I want as wide as possible. From the pics above it looked like the 275's were it but after seeing your pics I see no reason I can't clear the 295's. I am even willing to give up an inch or two of my drop to clear them if need be.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

The 10inch rallys come in multable back spaces so to be clear mine are 5.0inch. Looking at the pics of the other truck, it seems to have less back space, maybe 4.5 or 4.0 but I could be wrong.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

I guess the first thing I need to do is check the back spacing on the 10's I bought. I assumed they were all 5".

No they are not. I ordered mine and chose my back space.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

The more I look at the pic of the wheels I have the more I am worried about the backspacing. My Dad is going to measure them for me today since I am out of town. Do you measure the backspacing from the lug holes to the back of the rim?

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

Measure from the rear mounting surface to the outermost edge of the rim.you could lay it flat and stick the measuring tape through the center hole or use a straight edge.

Sorry to thread jack but i have to jump in and say that i really like your truck bbbc10 it and a few other trucks ive seen lately have made me want to swap my current 78 longbed for a 1973-80 shortbed truck lowered with a set of truck rally wheels on them.its very tempting to do believe me.

Re: wheel/tire Pic request

I have a set of truck rally's maybe ill just lower the truck i have now and roll it that way.Wouldnt be such a bad thing to do since i dont tow or haul much in the way of heavy loads. Then once its lowered the do the minor amount of bodywork it needs clean it up a bit and get it painted. After the motor/trans swap is complete that is.
