aftermarket radio / cd in dash

guys,
do you have nay pictures of your radio / cd players mounted in your dash that you could share ?
i am gathering ideas since i soon will be getting an a/c unit and will have to move my radio from the glove box. i hate thinking about cutting a hole in the dash where the original radio was, but my truck aint original anyway, so its gonna happen soon.
oh yea, i got 57

thanks much

Re: aftermarket radio / cd in dash

Here's a pic of my custom autosound unit installed. I have two kickpanel speakers and the original style overhead speaker with custom autosounds dual speaker unit. I do not have a cd player, but have a cord tucked in the ash tray to plug in my ipod.

How about a panel under the dash to put the radio in? Possibly with a cover that would hide it but drop down when you wanted to play the radio.

Someone needs to design a swing down radio bracket that would hide the radio up under the dash when it wasn't in use but would swing it down about where the ac unit in Magicoolbus's photo was when you wanted to use it. Then it would be fully out of sight when the truck was sitting.

Re: aftermarket radio / cd in dash

With todays electronics I seriously doubt I'd even place a head unit in the dash. You can get a remote AM/FM with MP3 input that could be hidden under a seat, behind the dash or anywhere else your imagination will take you. You can place the display about anywhere if you need one. I'm thinking I'll place the display and MP3 access in a flip out panal in the ash tray.
I think CDs will be phased out just like 8 tracks and cassets, but if I find a nice one I might add a 8 track player just to remind myself how old I am..
