Anyone ever seen or had this accessroy?

I have been around these trucks for quite some time and have seen quite a few accessories from this time period but have never seen the air cooled GM cushions. Anyone out there with pictures to prove they actually exist.

You've never seen the air-cooled cushions? There was a time when that was about all you could find. Nothing padded...no nylon, no leather, no beads, no nothing except these cushions that had a spring inner with a loosely-woven covering. Most of them went flat in the butt area an were tossed within a few months.

My dad had em in his Volkswagon bus and the Chevy Kingswood wagon. Kept his butt off the vinyl.

They may not have been so common up north. Maybe there is some old stock laying somewhere. It would be a cool show accessory piece

Any one remember taking them out of the seat and a pile of dust was where it was about 1/2 inch deep ?.. and if you shook them off ,you would be in a cloud of dust.

Even JC Whitney used to sell them. Maybe they still do.

The one I had in my '53 Ford had small coil springs that laid flat and were interwoven and was covered with a burlap type material... it worked.

I can't remember the last time I saw one, but if you used them it meant you had no AC. Back then, AC was an option, and it was fairly common not to have it.

Re: Anyone ever seen or had this accessroy?

My dad swore by them, but after we moved to Utah, in '72, I remember dad complaining that he couldn't find them anywhere out here.

"Back in the day",They were more common than Saddle Blanket seat covers in the 80's.

I would like to see a modern version for when I cruise with the windows down.
