98% original 60-66 trucks...

i couldnt find a thread that showed pictures of all original, or close to all original as possable! 60-66 trucks. i for one think that altered trucks look kool. but the "all factory originals" are beautifull !!! what do you all think?

i'll start with my 58,000 mile factory original with 1 repaint, recovered seat and newer tires. thanx, dave

you should maybe look in your post history, because you posted at least 10 times including pictures of your truck in that thread Slow Build linked to above

Just my opinion......
Put the white letters on the inside and run blackwalls. Get the correct cigarette lighter.

Enough of the nit-picking. I would be proud to own that truck.

Re: 98% original 60-66 trucks...

no grief here, I just thought aftermarket wheels and being lowered were pretty close to original, didnt see the need to split hairs. Happy 4th!

Nice representation of a '65! Your truck looks pretty much the same way when the original owner first saw it first at the dealership. Thanks for preserving history! You are correct, the "custom comfort option" included the chrome cigar lighter. Even a base models could be ordered with certain options that are typically found on customs.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was under the assumption that the knobs corresponded with the trim option, and even the base trucks came with cigarette lighters because everybody smoked back then. I don't recall ever seeing a car or truck without a lighter back in the day.

Re: 98% original 60-66 trucks...

I think what chevrestoguy is saying-yours is a base truck, w/no trim on the knobs but the cig knob has trim. I don't think the base cig knob is repoppped either. You could easily remove the trim from that knob if you so desire. I had a '64 w/78k, it had a cig lighter but had the black knob w/o the trim.
