hey guys, since putting my rear sport bumper on my truck ive noticed theres a pretty big gap between the bumper and the actual bed, showing a lot of the brackets and to me just creating a big "ugly space" The brackets have holes in the top side which look like they could be for some sort of a gap guard or gap filler, however, i dont know where to even begin looking for one at, if theres such a thing.

So, what im asking is IF there is such a piece to cover that area, what is it called and more importantly, where can i find one at to buy. I cant stand seeing right in between my bed and bumper and seeing those raw bumper brackets.

yeah theirs a couple different ones.
the type that fits the pick up and the one that goes to the blazer and subs.
I made mine out of 3" flat stock and had a lip bent on one side to stiffen it up and painted it to match the truck

I just put a sport bumper on my 82, I belive we're talking about the same thing, looks like a Blazer/Suburban bumper. It has two sheetmetal pieces on the top of it to conceal and protect the brackets from the stuff that spills out of the bed when you open the tailate. Least that's what I was told. Don't know why you'd have to protect the brackets, but I guess salt or dirt could collect there and speed up the rust. But it would probably collect on the thin metal and rust that even faster than the thicker brackets. So, the ones on mine are maybe 16-18 inches wide and about 3-4 inches deep. They are out toward the ends, and the center area is open to the elements. If you wanted to just close it in you could easily do so with a strip of sheetmetal and attach it to the holes in the top of the bumper brackets.
The guy called them pans, if that helps in searching.

Just move your bumper in an inch or so and close the gap

#25 and #26 known as gravel guards or deflectors, they are supposed to be silver in color like the rally wheel color.

The ones for the pickups are two pieces, one for each side. The one for the blazers & suburbans is one piece that goes all the way across.

I can't believe anyone hasn't fabbed a piece and sold it for our trucks. I'm not a very good fabber lol

anyone have a link to the single piece for blazers/burbs?

Lol nah. Just find the stock mounting holes and drill new knew a itch (or how for back) you like. Easy mod
