(My Thoughts)...WAY OVER PRICED!!!

OK a few of you may remember a Dealership I posted pictures of in Arizona. The place looked like a Consignment shop for Hot Rods/Trucks/Muscle cars.
Recently (well just ended an hour ago), an auction for a Red GMC from the same place, just ended.
It did not reach the reserve.
The highest bid was around $8065.00, with 8 Bidders.

So I though, "I wonder what their "Reserve" is?

Well they just relisted it below with a "Buy It Now" price,
or "Make Your Best Offer"... and you can see the price they're asking at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120747784399

Remember, I've seen these Trucks and they're 50' at best.

Thoughts?

It must be the Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: (My Thoughts)...WAY OVER PRICED!!!

It's pretty clean/cleaned up but one look under the dash and the truck itself would have me passing on it (based on the asking price).

You never no if you find that one buyer...

Thats what I'm talking about.
The Wirring under the Dash.
The Chrome Trim Rings missing off all 4 Side Marker Lights with caked on Glue showing.
The Gas Tank Carpet Kit, is low/loose on one side.
On the Pass Side behind the seat, there looks to be some wirring exposed.
It had dents/sand swell scratches over the Rear Window.
(I know this after seeing it in person).

This is just MY taste, but they painted the Chrome Grille...RED!!! (FUGLY)!

I mean, I'm no expert, but I'd givem $9K at best.

OMG.THAT'S RIGHT...I FORGOT ABOUT THAT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For $24K, I want a "Turn Key" Truck, and the only thing I wanna put into it is a Tank of Gas!

Don't give me the ..."Thats just a small thing"..
There are too many "Small Things" that add up to big bucks.

I want to SO BAD, e-mail this guy and say "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING"!!!!!!

But that would just be a D**K move on my part, but I get so pationate about our 67-72 Trucks!!
I wonder if Barrett Jackson or Mecum would even let it in the door!!?

Re: (My Thoughts)...WAY OVER PRICED!!!

Price may be high, but that's far from a fifty footer. I would buy a truck like that all day long for 12,000-14,000. So in my opinion it's no fifty footer. Price is a little high though.

and thats the Beauty of "What The Market Will Bear".

Its just not my cup of Tea..
Id change out the Grille, Take off the Side Mirrors.
Do away with the Chrome Bed Rails.
Take the Badging off.
Swap out the Side Marker Lights for Clear/White Lenses.
Take off the Chrome "surrounds" on the Tsail Lights.
Get rid of those "Fugly" Exhaust Tips.

I DO like the Cleanliness of the Engine and the Gas Tank relocation though.

I think putting gas in that thing would be cumbersome with the gas filler in the bed & the height of the truck (spring helper shocks to clear those big gawdy wheels)

Well,
I could and have for less $$, for that price that they want, the truck should be near perfect. Too many flaws for that price. Way too many flaws.....

I have done a frame off my self and I have to shake my head at that one...

Very true, I did all the tear down/assembly. The big cost for me was paint/body. I did do everything else. For a novice guy it would be very close. That truck is just not right in my opinion for that price.

Re: (My Thoughts)...WAY OVER PRICED!!!

It looks like a nice truck but ... The seller will have to learn what the value of the truck is by the amount of interest.
