I have put a really nice 383 stroker in my truck. Lots of chrome and K&N filter that i am worried about having stolen. Has anyone made a hood lock for their truck or does anyone sell a kit or something. If anyone has any good ideas for locking the hood in my 71 gmc I would really appreciate it.

Well I just got a cable lock and ran it thru the holes on either side of the of the hood post and then to secure it I run it down around the bottom of the radiator support. To open pop the hood ( it wiil open just enough to reach the padlock) and unlock. I wish I had a better way but it works.

I got a keyed hood lock at NAPA. My description will suck but bear with me. It was a chain with a metal piece on the end that slipped into a lock type device. Once locked you only could use key to open it. I bolted the chain piece to a exsisting hole in the hood then rivited the lock far enough down so that when it was locked the chain was tight and would not open up even a little bit. Its on a GMC and even with the open spots on the grill it would be a real pain to try and bust open.
