Re: summitt gear sets?

Everything Summit sells with their name on it is from a name brand manufacturer. Summit has a great reputation for selling quality parts, so I would not hesitate to use their "house brand" of gears.

Yea, pretty much every time I see anyone ask about any of summits "house brand" stuff, someone chimes in to say its made by (insert name brand here).

You care to elaborate? I have never had bad luck with Summit Racing parts or service. If you have please let us know.

certain summit brand parts you should stay away from such as valvetrain parts ie: roller tip rockers, most rickety things ive seen

as for thier service its supreme i love the company but some of their manufactured parts ar copys of name brand stuff built overseas. not something im going to risk putting on my truck, another example thier pushrods turn int bannana peel shrapnel with a solid cam lol

Re: summit gear sets?

Are you basing your comments on personal experience, or by what someone told you? I have never had the experience of Summit selling cheap import parts with their name on it. In most cases they have a top quality manufacturers parts in the Summit plain white box.

Re: summit gear sets?

just for info all mfg's have a failure rate. We have sold new in the box unopened parts from major usa companies that had to be returned do to problems. We sell many unlabeled parts Generic parts that we could put our name on but we don't. Not for any particular reason. We have sold gear sets that had problems. Don't know for sure but when a pro tells you its bad we believe him and get another one. If it keeps happening then thats a different story then you drop the product line.

Re: summit gear sets?

yah ive had problems with summit valvtrain and have lost faith in many summit "brand" parts. the way i see it i would rather not take a risk with major components some of the things jegs brand sells are exactly the same as summit brand as well. poor man buys it twice
