heater core ?
I'm going to change all my hoses on the engine and thought I should change my heater core at the same time. I have a 62 GMC custom but the truck shop offers a deluxe and a standard model. The local auto parts store asked if it was a fresh air or recirculating model. Hope you guys can help.

Re: heater core ?
That's a recirculating heater. On this model, the only thing showing on the engine side of the firewall are the heater hoses. On the deluxe or recirculating model, there is a huge metal can on the passenger side of the firewall as big as a breadbox. It also has a sheet metal duct that connects to the long rectangular opening in the cowl plenum area.
Post #2 on this thread shows a nice photo of the economy heater off the truck: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ghlight=heater And this thread shows pictures of the deluxe version: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ghlight=heater |
