bahahaha! i thought the same thing when i bought mine. its hopefully going up soon. I just need motivation. does anyone know if the roof console/ any roof console is available for a single cab anymore? i like the Hiliner (the headliner with speakers) but my seats are now too tall for me to get one and fit in the truck comfortably.

Yep, you can mount the OEM overhead console out of any GMT400 in your regular cab. You don't have the provional slots in your inner cab roof, but the console will fit in there no problems! Only issue you might run into is the dome light trim ring, but if you mount it in the proper location you shouldn't have any issues!

Re: lowered Z71

From the thumbnail pic and front angle I thought, what? 4wd Z71? 15" rims and 50 series tires. But there it is. And he left the Z71 decals on it too.
They make drop spindles for 4wd's?
There are a number of import cars with 4wd or awd like the subi and others. Drop them and it looks ok. Drop one of our 4wd Chevys and it's like damn, I can't believe you did that..
I do like that supercharger.

Because of the 15s and 50s, I was dead certain it was a 2wd until I saw the 4wd shifter in the floor.

I'm not sure about the '88-'98 trucks. He probably either cranked the torsion bars or used drop keys. I'm betting maybe shackles in the back. It's not lowered much. The low profile 15s drop it some and then the running boards make it look even lower.

Re: lowered Z71

If you lower by loosening the torsion bar bolts you would almost have to remove the bumpstops completely. Even on my 97 Burb with stock suspension the control arms were 1/2" or so off the bumpstops. You'd feel it pretty good on some bumps and holes. I cranked it up a few turns and got almost 2" lift out of it. It's just a tad high in the front now but it rides so much better.
I believe you're right about the shorty tires and side boards. It does look low. I kinda like it except for the racer back, visor and a couple of other things.
$40,000 in work to it. ?

MAYBE if he's adding the purchase price of the truck when new into the equation since he's the original owner. Being a Tiara conversion, I would guestimate maybe $25,000 or so new. If he paid someone to do all the other stuff to it, you could probably find another $15,000.

It does have a Corvette front tag on it.

Re: lowered Z71

Just by the way he talks about it I get the impression he hired most everything done to it. And that's alright. He had the inside of the tailgate painted and had them to spray the outside just for the hell of it. Really?

^I believe this, because as soon as I opened the link I knew I had seen this truck somewhere.

Yeah, the blower is pretty sweet, and I've always been a fan of the high-$ Borla exhaust...but the rest falls under the Thumper rule. (The animated bunny, not the comp cam.)

We always say "to each his own." What I like, somebody else might find tacky or dumb...but I don't care, cuz it's my truck.
The flip side of that is, and this is what some people fail to understand: Someday, I'm probably gonna have to sell it.

You know, the style of his truck isn't exactly popular among enthusiasts, but there sure do seem to be a lot of people selling trucks on eBay with the same tastes.

In my opinion, it's East coast vs West coast. There's a styling disconnect between being left and right-coasted.

This is very true. I can usually look at a truck in a magazine and tell geographically about where the truck is from. I'm usually right.
