parking light issues

My dash lights stopped working after taking out the stock fuel gauge and putting in an aftermarket one. Since everything is aftermarket and has it's own light except the speedo, I didn't care. Then a coworker told me I had no tail lights. My headlights come on, but the front marker lights and tail lights don't come on. I checked the fuses. I have turn signals and brake lights. I tried a new headlight switch, same issues.

Re: parking light issues

Your dash lights are on the same curcit as the park/running lights. Double check fuse and printed curcit behind cluster for damage.

Does that circuit run through an odd fuse, maybe? I do have a few blown fuses, but they seem to be diff. circuits. I don't have a horn, so the horn fuse isn't a big deal...

Could be that printed circuit, I did have the cluster housing bolts out so I could move it around for installing the gauge.

Most likey when you installed the aftermarket gauge in the cluster something is making contact with your dash light curcit. I don't think there's any odd fuse for that.

Re: parking light issues

Well I checked all my fuses, is there a cheap place to order the painted circuit from? I'll look at it next weekend, maybe, but would like to have a replacement on hand.

Check ebay for a printed circuit before you get one anywhere else. I got a NOS one for $20.

Re: parking light issues

In the mean time, anyone know how I could tap into the wiring, to put a manual switch to turn on the tail lights? I leave my house at 4am to go to work. I won't have time to pull the truck apart until next weekend. On a newer car I could just tap the relay, but do these trucks have a relay for the running lights?
