Drain Plug help on 14BSF...

Any tips for getting the drain plug loose on my 85 K20 rear diff? Searched and have tried heat, PB blaster, etc.....this thing is not budging....I'm using a 3/8" ratchet extension and it's not the snuggest fit....afraid of stripping...any ideas? Thought about welding a short grade 8 bolt to it...Thanks, Happy Friday Everyone

Re: Drain Plug help on 14BSF...

In another thread it was suggested to use an impact to jolt it loose. Never had to pull one, but it's worth a try before you start welding.

Re: Drain Plug help on 14BSF...There should be a prize for..

I feel like I've joined an exclusive club where the members are only those that have removed a rusty bugger of a pinion nut on the rear differential...WOW..that was about the most difficult thing I've ever messed with on this 25 plus year old truck. There should at least be a prize or something lol btw- Tried two buddies impact wrenches with no success, heat, PB Blaster....in the end a 4 ft breaker bar on a 1.25" impact socket saved the day...er night. Time for a cold beer..
