Going to do some racing this weekend. What do you predict?

Going to make it to Sac this weekend. I plan on mainly running 1/8 mile since there is no cage in the truck. If I see something good on the clocks, well, I might keep my foot in it Here is the down low if you don't know.

Old times in sig with the 347ci / 4L80E combo. That motor made 449rwhp with the converter locked and 402rwhp with it unlocked.

The new motor is a:
Pump gas friendly 11.14-1cr 418ci LS3 motor
AFR 225 heads
245/260 106/109 .646/.629 hydraulic roller
Super Victor intake
Dominator throttle boddy

This motor through the same drive train made 521rwhp with the converter locked and 469rwhp with it unlocked.

I recently swapped out the power hungry and heavy 4L80E for a built powerglide. Converter in the 80E was a 4,500, this one flashes to 5,200 on the trans brake.

Truck weighs aprox 3,400-3500 with me in it, has 4.56 gears and a 30" tall drag radial.

Passes will be NA only.

Any guesses?

I'll throw one out there 10.80 @ 125. It could be faster just depends on traction.

Re: Going to do some racing this weekend. What do you predict?

Yup,, the drag radial and weather is what has me second guessing everything too,, but......

Assuming you get some nice dense air and decent track temps / prep ..... 6.6x in the 1/8th if it hooks (I would think you will be easier on the tire now with the glide),

6.90 if the glide has a transbrake and you even THINK of using it.

Which has me guessing it's going to be more efficient and agressive in the first 1/2 of the track of a what would otherwise be ohhhhhhh... a 10.5x pass

Re: Going to do some racing this weekend. What do you predict?

I'm going to guess that the temp will be between 85-100 degrees.

The glide has a brake and I have a 2-step, both of which are brand new to me and I have not used.

Marv, If I am reading your reply right, you think it will go faster off the foot brake as I wont be hitting the tires as hard? I am kind of thinking that too. Which has me wondering if I use the T-brake, should I pull some timing for the initial hit and ramp it back in fairly quickly? Only playing with it will really tell me.

Re: Going to do some racing this weekend. What do you predict?

I was talking to my sister who lives just outside of sac. She was telling me next weekend is going to be a bit cooler, but to expect 90-95 temps.

Sure wish I could put some E85 in the truck for this trip, but I have a couple of small sections of rubber line going in to the fuel pumps. Unfortunately I don't have the time to swap them out with hard line or I would. My buddy that is running E85 in his 427 LS7 vette says that the harder you run it, the cooler it stays. I'm sure that would make a little difference. Perhaps before I go again in October.

Super73,
With your suspension knowledge, it should be no problem hooking the radial on the brake. Keep the front loose, and the rear shocks tight on compression and rebound. You should be fine. 13-15 psi on tire pressure. Post #'s

Yea NHRA heritage series is there this weekend. Going to be busy busy for testing. I would think that the next 2 weeks after would be better because NHRA will be at Sears Point.

Re: Going to do some racing this weekend. What do you predict?

I might be able to make it out there on the 22nd assuming my chassis builder doesn't want my truck for the cage. If he does, well, back to Oct 15 I want to go racing.....
