Did '67 ever come with a 327?
I may be buying a 67 donor truck and the guy says that he thinks the 327 in it is the original motor. Could it be? I havent look at the VIN yet... its a haul to go down there and look at it. Just wanted to see if it COULD be.
Thanks,

yeah, 327s were available in 67-68. They changed to the 350 in '69

Re: Did '67 ever come with a 327?
327 were an option for 67 283 and inlines were in most 67s and in 68 the 327 replaced the 283 and the 350 replaced the 327.

Re: Did '67 ever come with a 327?
The 283 was replaced by the 307, for '68. The 350 wasn't available in these trucks until '69. So, for '67, you could have a 283 or a 327, for a small block. In '68, you could have a 307 or a 327, for a small block. I wonder how many people took the smaller V-8, thinking that the 20 cubic inch difference wasn't much of an issue. Boy, did they get a surprise. Rather have a 283.

Check the SPID. If the truck is a CE (V8) truck the 327 will show as an option.

Re: Did '67 ever come with a 327?
The 67 327 was a small journal crank and the 68 327 was a large journal crank (Same as later 350's).
