right way to do belts on 396 big block

Okay, so I have been a member for a little and a lurker for a while. I have a 68 c10 short box that i picked up for a project about a month ago and it has a 396 big block and th400 trans. the guy before me had it all outta whack. so I am trying to figure out the correct way to run the belts on a 396. I only am using P/S, W/P, Crank, Alternator and the way he had it hooked up was w/p-alternator-crank. and p/s-crank. any advice will be helpful i will likely start a build thread soon

That's sounds like how it should be if I'm not mistaken

If I am not mistaken, the Gates catalog shows belt routings. Go to NAPA, O'Reileys, or Carquest and ask to see the belt catalog.

That's how my 454's are. PS only goes to the crank pulley and the alternator belt goes around the water pump and crank.
