Rear End advice on S-10 Frame Swap 50 Chevy

My project is coming real well and I have the stock S-10 rear end in it now. I realize that if I keep the stock one in there I will need to run mini-tubs and am planning on doing that using the floor from a long box S-10 donor. I want to run as wide of a tire as I can on the rear. I know running the stock 2 wheel drive axle will offer plenty of space but I'd need a rim with little backspacing. My other options are to run a 4x4 axle or camaro/firebird rear end. Any advice or pictures of your AD trucks would be appreciated.

I bought a 4X4 one, and even still had to mini tub my bed to run the 10" wide wheels. It's really your decision. I bought a trailer fender from Northern and cut it in half and welded it in.

I am using a rear axle from a 2000 ZR2 if I remember right its 62 1/2" wide I am running 15x8 wheel vintiuqes with 265/75/15 tires

Thank you for the input. Your pictures really help. I'm not ready to make any final decisions yet. We did get a heartbeat out of it last night so it is going well. I am running a 5.7 TBI and 4l60e. Now I need to finish up some things to take it ariound the block. I'll leave the short rear end in it for now at least until I get serious about wheels and tires. Going to work the bugs ot then next spring it is getting the wheels.

Ever thought about a 4link? I used a 9inch ford with a 4link for mine. Worked out pretty good with a set of wide wheels i already had.

Yours looks awesome and that is the stance that I want mine to have. I don't know if I'm ready to try to tackle the 4 link but I get whre you are coming from. I am running the stock s-10 gas tank and not sure if there would be clearance issues. What wheels are those and backspacing and tire size? They look perfect for me!

A triangulated four-link would definitely interfere with the stock s10 tank location. A parallel four-link should work if you wanted to go the 4-bar route and keep the gas tank where it is.
