Question 2 Questions... RADIATOR and HEADERS

1.Was wandering if the stock radiator that is in my 65 c10 that had a 230 in it but now has a pretty much stock 350, will it be able to cool the 350 and not run hot and work properly.

2. Other question is about the headers i have off of a 77 c10 the passenger side will bolt up but drivers side wont because of clutch z-bar. What is the best was to install the headers on these trucks (the 65 c10) any help is apperciated!!

Re: 2 Questions... RADIATOR and HEADERS

I used the Hedman (elite) header # 69268 from Summit. (66 C10) A bit pricey but worth the hassel less install. No worries with clutch linkage or rear cross member clearance.
I would suppose if your current Rad. is in good core condition it will work fine??? Assuming your not using AC and I know your tranny in manual... Try it 1st. It's way easy to change if you find the need.

Re: 2 Questions... RADIATOR and HEADERS

If the radiator is the typical 6 cyl radiator, it might cool that 350 OK, and it might not. A good fan shroud will make a big difference as will a good clutch fan.

Certain brands of headers for the '73-'87 trucks will work just fine, others will not. The Hedman #69090's will work as well as the Hooker #2452's. You could always get a set made for your truck with a small block which would be Hedman #69260.
