4/6 ECE Drop kit with 18's.....

Im a newbie here and Just purchased a 71 Super Cheyenne and was talking with Stan from ECE on Friday about the 4/6 drop kit. I'm going to daily drive this pickup. Stan recommended 18"x8" with 4-1/2" BS and 255/55/18 up front and 18"x9.5" with 5-1/2" BS and 275/50/18 out back. He said it would ride EXCELLENT. Anyone in here have pics with this setup or something similar?? Or does anyone have any further advice??? Want to do this right the first time.

Thanks
Brett

If Stan said it will ride excellent, then it will. I have never heard a complaint from anyone that has used ECE. Others will chime in.

Re: 4/6 ECE Drop kit with 18's.....

With their 4/6 kit you will not need to C-notch the rear, but any lower and you will. I have a 5/7 slam on my truck, and it is c-notched. Welcome to the board!

I do not have any pics myself, but there are a LOT on this site. I am sure others will post pics here in your thread.

There are pictures on ECE's site. Also check out 72Blkbuty's build. it's got a 4.5/6 drop I believe with 20" wheels. There are several others on the site with the drop and all I have ever heard about it is good things...

Stan's the man on this board. I have their 3.5/5 kit with 18's all around (255/45 and 295/45) and it rides great, and even handles pretty decent. The only other thing I would say is that you can easily get by with 295's out back if you want. I have them on mine.

That sits perfect in my eyes. Nice ride. What wheels are those and what ate the specs as far as width and spacing?? Oh and also, what tire brand??

Thanks,

These are Coys C-5's 18X8 with 4 bs 255/45-18, 18X9 with 5.5bs 295/45-18, tires are Nittos. I ordered the tires and wheels from Coys, already mounted and balanced. All I had to do was mount them up. Be sure and ask for spacers. They know exactly what fits on these rascals.

I'm thinking about going 3.5/6 with 295/50 out back and 255/55 out front. So in the back the tires would be 29.6 and 29 up front. When I was talking to Stan, he said 3.5/6 would get me sitting level and then by getting a slightly taller tire in the rear, I would get the slight rake I'm looking for. What u think??

If I were going to do mine over again, I'd definitely go 3.5/6. I wanted to be conservative because I actually intend to haul stuff in the back, but there's plenty of room.

I'd get the new suspension bits installed and see how it sits on four tires of the same size before you order. But I think you're on the right track.

Thanks......tires are Toyo Proxes ST. Bought them a number of years ago and at the time they had many many more size options than they do now. The don't have my back tire anymore!.....note to self....go easier on the "go peddle" from now on!!!!

LOL... Ya I see that.. I did find 255/55 and 275/55 in the Hankook... Pretty decent price as well... 255/55 is a hair under 29 and the 275/55 is a hair under 30... So I should still be able to get the stance im looking for... Thanks for the help guys..
