230 straight Six engine color?

What should the original 1964 230 straight six engine color be on my truck? Appears it was a greenish bluish color origionally. Anyone have any pics or a place where I could buy the paint? Thanks, Jared

The correct original color for 63 thru 65 230's and 66 250's is the blue-green color. Alpine green doesnt even come close to the original color, plus GMC painted there 64 thru 65 230's and 66 250's red orange just like there V6's. Send a PM to oem4me, he owns a super low mileage 66 with the correct original blue green 250. Hopefully he can post a photo of the engine. I don't believe this color shade is available unfortunately.

I could not tell you with any certainty when they changed colors or for which engines, but this is for sure the orig paint/color for a 66 250.

Mine was that color!!! I found an old Oldsmobile color that I painted the valve cover with the other day to see what it looked. It was close, but was a hair too bright. What color is that called? Got a paint code by chance?

My engine looks identical to that, just a diff decal(230 high torque). Any way of checking to see if it actually is, or if it is even original to the truck?
