Brake Conversion Rear

Is it worth the cost? Seems like $500 from CPP (for my 72 C10 Frame) is as about as cheap as it gets. I have my factory drums rebuilt and ready to roll, but if I'll see a huge performance increase adding rear disc's I'd like to do it now while my frame is naked.

Anyone care to push me heavily one way or the other? If so is there a far superior kit for around the same price (give or take ~$150)?

Re: Brake Conversion Rear

I don't think there is a performance advantage.
Just looks.
Unless you spend the big bucks with companies like Wlwood and Baer, for their large diameter kits.
(which also require large diameter wheels).
My opinion.

Re: Brake Conversion Rear

you can get away with running rear drums it if you are running solid type Wheels...But if you are going with wheels that have big openings you should go Disc.
Cpp rear disc upgrade was well worth it for me ...

Re: Brake Conversion Rear

That is what I was thinking: aesthetics equals a huge gain. Performance, not so much. I'll probably roll the drums for now and then add discs later one when less things are begging for money. Afterall I will have some open air 20's (C5, 338, or similar).

Thanks for the input.
