Unhappy DANG IT!!!! I went and did what I said I'd never do!!!!

I traded my 66 off. I almost felt like crying as it drove off to it's new home in another state. I've had this truck for about 7-8yrs now. I guess it's for the best though. I just couldn't seem to find the time to give her the attention she desperately needed. The bright side is that I have been wanting to get something fun for my kids to enjoy like a go kart or something. So I traded for something I know they will love. I'm still kickin myself for it. Still not sure what to think about the ol truck not being here anymore.

Here are some pics of truck just before it left my house and what I traded for.

I don't think the camaro in the background is a Z28 or it would have louvers in the front fenders. Sorry for jumping in on your question.

Thank you for the comment. I know it's going to be a blast. This thing does need some work. I'm glad you shared the web link. You seem a bit knowledgable about this stuff. I may PM you with some questions on it.

I certainly do plan to have some fun behind the wheel myself. I'm just glad I have something my kids will enjoy just as much as I will. The joy I got out of having and working on the 66 was not shared so much.

I will deffinately be worth it. I've been wanting to get something like this for my kids before they get much older. I remember growing up always having some sort of kart or bike. I had so much fun then.

Acually it is a true Z/28. It's a 1978 Z/28, originally a 4spd now auto, soon to be 4spd again. The hood, grill, wheel well flares, are 81 Z/28 and the fenders were replaced as there were some pretty good dings in them. I have new louver to go back in though. I've got some serious plans for this car.

Yeah. I think I made a couple of little girls REAL happy. They sat and played in that thing for half the day. LOL!

Re: DANG IT!!!! I went and did what I said I'd never do!!!!

As I will be moving north in a year or two when the wife retires (I know I am doing it backwards, Yankees move here, not us move there, but I have my reasons, plus I kinda like Maine) I often wonder if I should sell "Ginger" (my '63) as I would not want to kill her in the rust belt. I guess I could put her up in the winter in a barn. I could not let her rust to death, I just do not think I could ever part with the truck. If it were for a family members illness or some such I could do it in a heartbeat. It looks like you have lotsa other stuff to do and keep you busy! My little girl is all grown up and moved away, but she could get anything I have in a heartbeat! Have fun with the buggy and the girls, you blink your eyes and be walking them down the aisle.
