About 20 to 25 years ago when tractor pulls started to become popular ( 4x4 truck class ) a competetor had a 4x4 chevy van . He somehow adapted a dual wheel 4x4 axle on the front of his van. I've always wondered how he did this . Any ideas ? Maybe someday I'll do this to one of my old 67-72 4x4's !

I think you could probably use these adapters i dont know how you would steer though

I guess w/ a dana 60 front that's off a dually truck, you would be able to mount a second set of dually rims to the front. I don't know what it does to steering geometry and what not, but if the studs are long enough you could bolt the rims on.

this probably won't help, but I remember seeing video clips taken from the European theater of WWII with deuce and a half trucks that had dually front wheels goin thru some deep mud. it was pretty cool.

About 25 year ago when vans were popular, I remember seeing a van on a front cover of a van rag that dual wheels on the front and back that were white spoke. I have always wondered about that van too.

On the dual drive front wheel drive there must be a way to separate the dual wheels so that they could turn, (each wheel with its on bearings and driven by a posi clutch setup?). It must have been complicated!

Here is a pic of a GM Futurliner that has dual wheels in the front, (no front wheel drive) and each wheel had its on set of bearings.
I think that it is an interesting concept.

I don't know what it does to steering geometry and what not, but if the studs are long enough you could bolt the rims on. __________________ 1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
