Lowering spring ??? please help

just a quick ????? can you cut a row out of your rear coils and then weld the top back on to make a shorter coil???/ just a idea not sure if its a good one??? thanx for all the help..my truck is a 1969GMC 910 2wd 250cid and a T5 tranny....6 lug going to 5 lug

The quick answer is no.
Welding on coils springs is not a good idea.
I would suggest buying the correct drop spring.

If your short on cash and just wanna lower it for alittle while until you find cheap coils. just buy a set of spring compressors at autozone same effect
