Weatherstriping Replacement

OK, in looking over the "new" truck I am compiling my prioritized "to do" list. First night home Truck sat in the driveway. Fairly sizeable rainstorm moved through and next morning the carpet was wet on both sides of the cab up forward. I figure it leaked in through the open sidewall air vents, but there is virtually NO rubber left on the side windows so water would flood into the door as well.

I read the Custom Classic Trucks article on the Brothers kit and the photos of the install on a '57 Chevy 3100. Has anyone done this on their '67/'68 and can tell me any major differences from the article. I plan to do this chore ASAP - window rubber, felts etc, same with vents window, and while I'm at it new seals for the air vents on the sidewall and a new cowl rubber strip as well. Any more I should hit immediately?

Brothers, Chevy Duty, and Carters all have the seals. Brothers was mentioned in the article. Anyone have any feedback on these three sources?

The metal edge that the window glass sets in appears to be rusted. Is this part of the rolling mechanism or part of the window assembly that sits on the mechanism that raises and lowers it? Hard to answer this without seeing it, but can that be cleaned and reused, or is that a part more easily taken care of by just replacing it?

Lots of questions I know, thanks in advance for any help.
