Post factory steel wheel sizes

Can the *steel* 6-lug wheels from an 88-98 light-duty 3/4 ton 2wd be used on a half-ton 4wd? Are they the same lug spacing? Are they the same width? What about backspacing? Or are they altogether the same wheels?

Do the LD 3/4 tons have the same wheels on 2wd and 4wd?

My GM parts guy says that the wheels do fit, as they have put 1/2 ton 4wd wheels on light duty 3/4 tons. Not sure if the backspacing is the same tho.

Did some "research" and figured out that the LD 3/4 2wd steel wheels are not the same as the LD 3/4 4wd steel wheels. The difference is at least in the backspacing and maybe the width, too.

The LD 3/4 4wd and 1/2 ton 4wd steel wheels appear to be the same.
