yes that def causes them if it still occours take the cap and rotor off leave the wires attachet to the cap the you grab the shaft or weigths were the springs are and see if the pivot and are free if not soak them in penatratin oil and see if ythey will break loose if not get a new distribtor make sue the lil springs are ok and there i know this is a pita for a 17 year old im 19 and just did this crap and it was a pita even for me being a mechanic some times all the hassel and frustraion gets the best of you
