Re: Ac vent

It's a complete set-up, and he might not part it out, but it's worth a try:

Re: Ac vent

Ive got a lead on one. If it works out I'll post pics.
I want to do a vintage air setup..... BUT I HATE the aftermarket ~bolt under your dash~ vents. I want it to look "somewhat" Original.

Re: Ac vent

I agree, I would like the "factory" one, but they are not easy to find in good shape. Good luck, I hope it works out in your favor.

Vintage air, old air, etc have dash mount round vents available, some even shut off (my wifes side of the truck) you can get them chrome, black etc. they are not that expensive. I plan on using 3 round ones and 1 flat one under the drivers side (my 66 gmc has no room on the drivers side for a dash round vent) so I have to use 1 flat one there, they have a round one that fits under the dash but I thought it looked better to go with the flat one for leg room. Re: Ac vent

Hard to find like this one, I traded a hood for it, mainly because I didn' want to move the hood.

Re: Ac vent

The plastic portion of that piece wouldn't be that difficult to reproduce in fiberglass. The round vents would be tricky, because they don't resemble anything I've seen in any other GM vehicle. The center vent looks very similar to to the center dash vents on my old '66 Chevelle.

Knowing GM, I can almost guarantee that the components were used on other applications. We'll have to put our thinking caps on and figure out where. It would be fun to re-make that part with all GM components.

I mounted one round vent on each side of dash....I drilled a hole at the upper middle and flush mounted...looks more factory...I'll get pictures soon
